Simon Turner has over ten years experience in agri-environment management specialising in land and water management. He has worked for ADAS for five years on both UK and International projects. He project managed the EC Phare funded Environmental Information Systems working with the Hungarian Ministry of Environment and Regional Policies. He is leading a team that is providing expert advice in environmental sectoral analysis, integration, policy instruments and measures for the European Environment Agency (EEA) and prior to that contributed to the EEA's State of the Environment Report (1999).

Before joining ADAS Simon worked as a TCO for the British Government's ODA (now Department for International Development) in Sri Lanka on the bi-lateral Forest and Land Use Mapping Project. He worked particularly in developing a number of geographical information systems (GIS) based applications to facilitate land use planning and develop strategies for reducing soil erosion. Prior to that he worked in Uganda on an NGO project as a farm planner which included agricultural extension and participatory rural development.
