Ian Houseman has over thirty years experience of extension services in the UK, delivering agricultural advice to farmers, growers and the corporate sector in the UK with over 10 years experience at senior management level. Responsibilities included management of a consultancy centre, information systems, marketing strategy, and market information systems. Has carried out a considerable number of projects in the fields of institution building and marketing information systems particularly in Lithuania, Romania, Poland, Russia, Ukraine and a number other countries worldwide.

Hands on practical experience gained in working for ADAS as a senior manager has provided Mr.Houseman with extensive knowledge and understanding of proven methodologies for institution building and development of extension services. These methodologies include processes for guiding teams of consultants through the transition from an extension service as a wholly government-funded department, through to Government Agency status, towards 100% self-financing and the subsequent establishment of a fully privatised consultancy company.
