Wynoochee Lake

Scooter finally got his truck together,  so we thought we'd kidnap it and take it to Matlock.  We planned on going up to the lake to test it out and scout for the Labor Day weekend run. This is what we found: Well what happened was..we skidded the edges for a while tearing it up. Then we told Scooter to go first (he only has 35" tires), but in true Bastards fashion he hit it about 30mph!! That was it, he was stuck and water filling the floorboards.  Gene backed in and I hooked the strap and out it came.  Gene was next, and he almost made it out.  But after working the hole two or three times back and forth(in true Gene fasion) he backed out, Then he told me it was my turn.  I new he dug it out pretty good, but I didn't think it was that bad.  I almost had it, but the carb sucked a little water and the brief stop cost me.  I have 9" of total lift and 39.5 boggers, I washed my hands out the drivers window.  Gene hooked up to me and tried pulling me out forward.  When the strap got tight, Gene's clutch linkage popped out and the truck stalled.  There we were,  two trucks stuck with a strap tight between us.  Scooter to the rescue!!!! He hooked up to Gene and was going to pull him out of his ruts, so he could get it out of gear.  The little truck thought it could, but it was nice thinking.  Gene's truck didn't even move.  Under the truck Gene went and got the clutch linkage reconnected.  We got hooked up a little different this time and with a 30' run I popped right out.  Once we examined Gene's frame, we noticed that it was tweaked.  This is why the clutch linkage kept popping out.  So homeward bound,  Scooter said his tranny was making some noise.  Yep the automatic was fryed like a chicken.  So we limped it home and tranformed it into a stick three weeks later.
